Today Aggie can let you in on a little secret we’ve been keeping since June!
Aggie Global has been announced as the winners of the Secretary General’s Innovation Awards for Sustainable Development, by the Commonwealth. We won under the prosperity category, which was all about helping a community thrive during these times.
We are so humbled and proud to be selected from all the Pacific organisations that applied.
The award acknowledges our work in Fiji, specifically to be the first online marketplace in Fiji helping farmers sell their produce online.
At the same time, the award celebrates the positive impact we are having in the communities we work.
Over the last 18 months, Aggie has distributed over 70 sponsored food boxes to families in need, we’ve redirected over $60,000 back to our suppliers and we have impacted over 800 individuals.
This work wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support from our community, customers and farmers. So a massive vinaka vakalevu to everyone who has been a part of our journey so far.
We would also like to mention that although the award is specifically for our work in Fiji, this model is what we are replicating in Australia with our Indigenous suppliers. The set up takes time but we are striving to reach this same level of impact for our Australian community very soon.
If you want to support our work further, either in Fiji or Australia, it's best to support our crowdfunding campaign here, so we can keep up our work!
Cheers!
